Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data the Techrethought website handles and why. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. If you send an enquiry, we use the details you give only to reply and to discuss the work you asked about.
Who is responsible for your data
Techrethought, No. 469, 2nd Floor, Anna Salai, Nandanam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600035, India, decides how the personal data described here is used. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act), that makes Techrethought the “data fiduciary”. For anything in this policy, email [email protected] or call +91 88258 07825 or +91 93821 94201.
What the site collects when you browse
The site does not ask who you are, and it sets no cookies. To deliver its pages, our hosting provider, Railway, receives the technical details that every web request carries: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for and the time. Railway uses them to serve the site and protect it from abuse, and keeps them for a limited time under its own policies. We do not use them to identify you.
What the site keeps in your browser
The site may keep up to four small settings in your browser's own storage. They are not cookies, they are never sent to us or anyone else, and you can clear them at any time in your browser's settings.
tr-sound- Remembers whether you turned the site's sound on or off. Kept in local storage until you clear it.
tr-motion- Remembers whether you turned the site's motion off or back on. Kept in local storage until you clear it.
tr-entered- Remembers that you have seen the home page's opening animation, so it does not play in full again on every visit. Kept in session storage and deleted when you close the tab.
tr-webgl- A switch our developers use to test the 3D graphics. The site reads it but never sets it, so it exists only if someone sets it by hand.
When you send an enquiry
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and a few sentences on what you need. You can also tell us how you would like us to reply (email, a phone call or WhatsApp), a phone or WhatsApp number, your company's name and website, the services you are interested in, and where you are with budget and timing. When you send it:
- the site checks it for spam: a hidden field that only automated scripts fill in, a signed timestamp that shows the form was not sent unusually fast, a limit on links in the message, and a limit on how many enquiries one connection can send. For that last limit, the server holds a scrambled, one-way form of your IP address in its memory for up to a day; it is never written to disk;
- your enquiry is emailed to [email protected] through Resend, an email delivery service, with your address set as the one we reply to; and
- an automatic reply goes to the email address you gave, to confirm the enquiry arrived. It repeats nothing you typed.
The site does not keep your enquiry in a database. It is kept in our mailbox, and Resend keeps a record of the emails it sends for a limited time under its own policies. So that your enquiry is not lost if the email fails to send, the site also writes one copy of what you entered in the form (your name, contact details, the services you chose, your message and your other answers, with the time you sent it) to its server log. That copy does not include your IP address or any other details about your browser or device. It is kept only for as long as our hosting provider, Railway, keeps the site's server logs (7 or 30 days, depending on the hosting plan), and is then deleted automatically.
We use what you send to reply, to discuss and quote for the work and, if you become a client, to carry it out. We do not sell it, share it for anyone else's marketing or add you to a mailing list.
If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp instead, we receive what you send and use it in the same way.
Analytics
The site uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. If we add analytics later, it will run only after you agree to it, and this section will name the tool, what it collects and how to change your choice.
Other services involved
- Railway hosts the site, delivers its pages and holds its server logs, including the temporary copy of each enquiry, as described above.
- Resend sends the enquiry email and the automatic reply.
- Our email provider stores enquiries in the company mailbox.
- The site's fonts are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not contact Google Fonts or any other font service.
- The contact page loads a Google Map only after you press Show map. Until then nothing is requested from Google. Once you press it, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy.
- Links to WhatsApp, Google Maps and our clients' websites take you to those services. What they collect is covered by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Where your data is processed
Techrethought is in India. Our hosting and email providers may store or process data on servers in other countries. Where that happens, it is done as Indian law allows.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to reply and to handle any work that follows, and for any longer period the law requires (for example, tax records if you become a client). Then we delete it. The copy in the site's server log is deleted automatically, as described above. If you ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it;
- withdraw consent you have given, without affecting what was done before;
- nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or cannot act yourself; and
- have a complaint about how we handle your data dealt with by us.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
If you live outside India, the law where you live, such as the GDPR in the European Union or the United Kingdom, may give you other rights. Write to us and we will help you use them.
Children
The site is meant for businesses and is not aimed at children. If you are under 18, please do not send an enquiry yourself; ask a parent or guardian to contact us instead.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Enquiries are seen only by the people at Techrethought who need them to reply and to do the work. No way of sending or storing data is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you send.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update it here and change the date at the top of the page.
